Acrylic Painting Basics

Sketchbook Drawing Week

5 days, Monday, July 24 – Friday July 28

!0am – 4pm

Your sketchbook is a place to work out ideas, collect your thoughts, hone your drawing skills, and be as a source of inspiration. Maintaining a daily sketchbook practice can boost your creativity and increase your productivity. Your instructor will work with you to create daily challenges and discuss how to keep up your practice, even on really busy days. You will sketch out and about Calgary and develop your ability to work on location. Please see your course supply list online. Be sure to come prepared for the first class.  
Its a beautiful week full of the pleasure of drawing.

Spring/Summer Workshops

The more you do this, the faster your skills build, no kidding. Use it for journalling, practicing techniques, planning projects, whatever you like. ABSTRACTS! What? Why? How?
Sat, May 27, Sun, May 28
9:30am – 3:30pm each day.

Intrigued by abstraction but intimidated? Come find out what it is, why we make it and how to make it – all in Acrylics. It’s easier than you think. 

What makes a good abstract painting when you don’t know what subject you’re looking at? Good design is the key – and this is how we can get there. Colour theory, mixing, design and composition and some crazy technique stuff.

Acrylic MIXED MEDIA Collage
Sat, June 24, Sun, June 25
9:30am – 3:30pm, both days

Acrylics are so cool because they do so much!  Come and have a great painting experience as we collage, stamp, and splash paint on panels. Along with great info about colour and design we’ll be having the most fun just letting our intuition go with the flow.
